Alvino Pry — A Communications Bureau

Strategic PR for founders who refuse to be invisible.

A boutique firm of eleven strategists — four of them former journalists — that lands Tier-1 coverage for funded founders in under thirty days. No retainers padded with busywork. No juniors on the account.

Origin Story · Est. 2019

PR run by people who've reported the story — and run the company.

Alvino Pry was founded in a Brooklyn co-working space in 2019 by a former Reuters business desk journalist and a former Notion head of communications. They had watched too many funded founders hire firms that had never filed a story, never met a deadline, and never carried a P&L.

So they built the opposite: a senior-only boutique where partners stay on the work, where every account has a former journalist on the research side, and where the operating instinct of a comms leader is paired with the editorial instinct of a reporter. Six years later, the model has not changed. Neither has the team size.

What Working With Us Actually Looks Like

Four working conditions. Every engagement. No exceptions.

  1. 01

    Partners stay on the work.

One of the founders of the firm is on every account, every week. There is no junior pyramid. The person you meet on the strategy call is the person who edits your pitch. This is the most expensive way to run an agency and the only one we know that actually works.

  2. 02

    The 90-day guarantee, written in.

Three Tier-1 placements in 90 days, or we work the next quarter for free. It's written into every master services agreement — not a sales promise, a contractual line. We have paid out four times in six years. Two of those clients are still with us.

  3. 03

    The no-AI-pitches pledge.

We were the first PR firm to publish a public no-AI-generated-pitches pledge in 2023. Every pitch we send is written by a human who has read your deck, your last earnings call, and the journalist's last six stories. The journalists know the difference.

  4. 04

    Four verticals. Nothing else.

B2B SaaS, climate tech, fintech, and consumer brands. We turn down work outside these lanes — including a strict policy of never taking direct competitors in the same vertical within sixty days of each other. The focus is the product.

"We don't sell hours, we don't sell deliverables, and we don't sell coverage we can't predict. We sell a senior partner who picks up the phone when your board calls, a research desk that knows which reporter is about to file, and a guarantee we put in writing because we expect to be held to it. If that sounds like the kind of firm you've been looking for, you'll know what to do next."

Fintech · Regulatory Moment 2024

A regulatory moment, handled before the news cycle caught up.

A Series B fintech facing an unexpected state-level inquiry. Within 72 hours, we had prepared the founder for three broadcast interviews, secured a New York Times explainer positioning the company as a cooperative voice with regulators, and pre-briefed six key reporters.
