Alvino Pry Journal Vol. VI · Issue 11 · Winter 2024

Field notes from people who have sat on a news desk.

The Journal is where our strategists publish what we are seeing in the media landscape and what it means for founders planning a launch, a funding round, or a category moment. No blog SEO filler. No AI rewrites. Just opinionated writing from the team that lands the coverage.

Editorial standards

How this Journal is written — and why it matters.

The same standards you see below are the ones our strategists apply to every client engagement. We publish them so you can verify the writing is human-sourced before you trust the rest of the site.

  1. 01

Every byline is a human who has touched the work.

No AI-generated pitches, no AI-generated posts, no ghost-drafted "thought leadership" copy. We were the first PR firm to publish a public no-AI-pitches pledge in 2023, and we still honor it. If a piece in this Journal is co-bylined with a researcher, that researcher exists and is credited.

  2. 02

Every claim is named, dated, and sourced.

When we cite a placement, a publication, or a number, we name the reporter or the source. When we make an argument about the media landscape, we have spoken to at least three active journalists about it before we publish. The same applies to the work we do for clients — vague claims do not leave this building.

  3. 03

We say what we will not write.

We do not publish hot takes about founders we have not pitched. We do not run pieces designed to dunk on a competitor agency. We do not write the press release as a "Journal post." If a dispatch ever reads like marketing copy, we have failed, and we want you to tell us.
